My Approach to Nutrition
I believe that food should be nourishing, satisfying, and joyful, not stressful or filled with guilt. My approach centers on intuitive eating, gentle nutrition, and body respect, helping women reconnect with their bodies and find balance in a way that feels sustainable and freeing.
My goal is to help women experience the freedom that comes from letting go of food rules, tuning in to their body’s natural cues, and finding what truly feels good for them. Health is not defined by a number on the scale, but by the way you feel physically, mentally, and emotionally. It’s about energy, connection, rest, movement, and confidence in your own skin.
I started Allison Garcia Nutrition & Wellness to create a space where women could receive compassionate, personalized care that focuses on long-term health, not perfection. After years of working in traditional healthcare, I saw how often women’s needs were overlooked, and how much pressure they felt to shrink themselves or chase unrealistic standards of health. I knew there was a better way.
As a mom myself, I’ve learned firsthand how deeply motherhood can change your relationship with food, your body, and your sense of self. My philosophy is rooted in helping women nourish their bodies with kindness, find joy in eating again, and feel supported through every stage of life.
A Bit About Me
Hi, I’m Allison! I’m a Registered Dietitian and the founder of Allison Garcia Nutrition & Wellness, where I help women reconnect with their bodies and build a peaceful, sustainable relationship with food.
I earned my Bachelor of Science in Nutritional Science from Cornell University, completed over 1200 hours of supervised practice through the Wellness Workdays Dietetic Internship, and became credentialed as a Registered Dietitian in 2019. Since then, I’ve worked in a variety of clinical settings, including acute care, long-term care, and outpatient clinics, supporting clients with both chronic health conditions and general wellness goals.
My passion for Intuitive Eating and the Health at Every Size framework began after my first job at a weight loss clinic, where I witnessed how chronic dieting and food restriction can harm both physical and mental health. That experience completely changed how I view nutrition and wellbeing. I discovered how intuitive eating and mindfulness can help people break free from diet rules, rediscover trust in their bodies, and find joy in nourishing themselves again.
Becoming a mom deepened that passion even more. My own postpartum experience opened my eyes to how much pressure women face to “bounce back,” and how little support there is for nourishing and healing our bodies through all the changes of motherhood. I’m especially passionate about helping women care for themselves with grace—whether they’re navigating pregnancy, postpartum, or the busy seasons of motherhood that follow.
I live in Orange County, California with my husband, Mario, our toddler son, and our golden retriever, Simba. I’m half Korean but can speak more Spanish than Korean, though we’re hoping to work on that someday! My love for kimchi and all things spicy definitely sparked my love for food and flavor early on. When I’m not talking about nutrition, you’ll usually find me chasing my toddler around the park, tackling a home project, or planning our next family adventure.
