Autumn Apple Crisp Recipe (Vegan, Gluten & Dairy Free)

Autumn Apple Crisp

Nothing screams fall louder than baked apples! This is actually the first time I’ve really baked with fruit, and I gotta say, it turned out pretty amazing! For those of you who may have gluten or dairy intolerance, not to fear because this recipe is for you! This recipe is also vegan friendly and is actually quite simple to make. Although I’m not one to shy away from store bought baked goods, there’s nothing quite as wholesome as food that you can make yourself. Having less artificial preservatives in our lives is an added bonus not only for your health, but also for the flavor of your food. Enjoy!

Autumn Apple Crisp

Nothing screams fall louder than baked apples! This is actually the first time I’ve really baked with fruit, and I gotta say, it turned out pretty amazing! For those of you who may have gluten or dairy intolerance, not to fear because this recipe is for you!

Ingredients

  • 2 Honey Crisp Apples
  • ½ cup Rolled Oats
  • 2 tsp Cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp Salt
  • ¼ cup Coconut Oil
  • ¼ cup Maple Syrup
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • ½ cup Almond Meal
  • ¼ Coconut Flour
  • ½ cup Brown Sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 F
Prep the Apples
  1. Cut apples into thin slices
  2. In a large bowl, mix apples together with lemon juice, cinnamon, coconut flour, and maple syrup until well combined
  3. Layer a baking dish, I used a 6x8 in, with apple slices (it doesn't have to be neat!)
Make the Crumble Topping
  1. In another medium bowl, add oats, coconut oil, brown sugar, cinnamon, and almond meal flour and combine until crumbly
  2. Sprinkle on top of apples
Bake
  1. Place in oven and bake for 45-50 minutes until topping is golden and bubbling
  2. Set out to cool for at least 15 minutes before serving
  3. Enjoy alone or with your favorite ice cream!
